This podcast was created to share our love of the holidays, year round, with you.
Did Jack Frost visit your home this Winter? You might have seen him in the frost, ice, snow, sleet, or just in the freezing cold.
In this week's President's Day episode, Beth talks about Jack Frost's history and lore. Cole shares the story of Jack Frost has envisioned by the 1979 Rankin-Bass television special, where Jack pursues a human girl named Elisa, and seeks to become human in order to be with her. With a cast of characters that includes Snip the snowflake maker, Holly the snow gypsy, and Kubla Kraus, the evil Cossack who lives alone in a castle full of mechanical Key-Nights, the special brings even more ideas to the Jack Frost traditions. And, finally, Sydney shares the background on Mount Rushmore National Memorial, with 60 foot granite heads of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, and Lincoln, that represents the nation's birth, growth, development, and preservation, respectively.
